In the very heart of the
Sabina area, Casperia (formerly Aspra Sabina) stands on a rocky hill
surrounded by evergreen woods.
This medieval village, founded in the Romans, is
one of the very few in Europe where cars are not allowed to enter:
easy
and
comfortable
steps
run from both Porta
Romana and Porta Reatina, the two ancient entrance doors of the village,
and take you up to S.Giovanni square at the top of the village.
You’ll be astounded by the sound of silence that you’ll
hear sitting in the sun on a terrace overlooking one of the best
Sabina views, with the Soratte Mountain in the background.
